Brother Lucas is the Director of Legislative Services for the Board of Alders in New Haven, Connecticut where in 1998 he was the first African American and the youngest person to be appointed to this chief of staff position. He is often featured as an motivational speaker especially for, to, and about urban youth and political affairs. He is an alumnus of Yale University (Branford College) and has received numerous awards for his decades of service to the New Haven and wider African American community including: Leadership Greater New Haven, Yale University's Seton Elm-Ivy Award, Lifetime Service Awards from chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Brother Lucas is a former national board of member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Dwight Hall at Yale, and the Afro-American Cultural Center at Yale. He also was a founder and first President of the New Haven Pan Hellenic Council, and first Board Chairman of the Young Voices Initiative a teen leadership program, and first president of the Yale Black Alumni Association's Connecticut Chapter.

Dr. Paul Whyte Spr '91

Dr. Paul Whyte is currently the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction for New Haven Public Schools. Previously, he was Instructional Leadership Director for High Schools and Turnaround Schools for Waterbury Public Schools. He supervises principals to assure effective instruction in classrooms and proper management of schools. Dr. Whyte is driven to improve the life outcomes of students within the district. Also, in this role he has supported two schools through a comprehensive transformation of programs and culture to support student learning. Prior to this role, Dr. Whyte was the principal of New Beginnings Family Academy, a public K-8 charter school, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. As principal, he focused on building a culture of achievement and high expectations for students and staff. Under his leadership, NBFA scores on the Connecticut Mastery Test improved dramatically, with the school achieving the most improvement among middle schools in the state. Prior to serving as the principal, Dr. Whyte
oversaw the development of formative assessments, data driven decision-making processes and a teacher evaluation program.
Dr. Whyte holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Yale University and a Master of Education in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy (APSP) from Harvard Graduate School of Education and an Intermediate Administration and Supervision Certificate from Sacred Heart University. He recently completed a doctorate at Teachers College, Columbia University in the Urban Education Leaders Program (UELP).

Brother King is a senior at Yale University majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. He has plans to pursue a medical degree after completing a year of public health research after graduating in the Spring of 2022. On Yale's campus, Brother King has served as the President of the Black Men's Union, the Executive Director for the Black Students for Disarmament at Yale, as well as held various positions within Yale's Afro-American Cultural Center.
